Nearly half of young adults no longer wear deodorant, survey finds (1)

Uh, dude ... what's that smell?

It could be related to this startling fact from a newly released survey: Nearly half of young adults no longer wear deodorant.

Yikes.

The survey from YouGov, a polling firm, found that approximately 40% of people ages 18 to 24 don't typically wear deodorant, according to TV station WISC.

The percentage is almost as high — about 30% — for people ages 25 to 34.

The reason? Most people surveyed said they don't believe they need it.

Doctors, however, advise applying deodorant daily, WISC said.

While they're apparently not super concerned about underarm odor, young people are just as clean — if not cleaner — in a number of other areas. For example, the study found they are more likely to wash their hair each day.
