Everything we know so far about the next season of 'Emily in Paris' (2024)

Will there be an Emily in Paris Season 2?

Netflix officially confirmed on 11 November that Emily Cooper would be remaining in Paris for the foreseeable via a memo penned by Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu). “We are writing to regrettably inform you that Emily Cooper will need to remain in Paris for an extended period of time. Despite her overconfident manner and lack of prior experience in luxury goods marketing, she has nonetheless managed to charm some of our hard-to-impress clients during her short time at Savoir. Call it bonne chance, or American ingenuity—I’m leaning towards the former—her results are impressive. We hope that by extending her time in Paris, Emily will further the relationships she has already made, delve deeper into our culture, and perhaps pick up a few words of basic French.” Quel dommage, Sylvie, quel dommage.

Is there a trailer for Emily in Paris Season 2?

No, but Netflix did release this “deux” and champagne-themed Instagram announcement for your viewing pleasure.

Who will be in the cast of Emily in ParisSeason 2?

Creator Darren Star revealed in an interview with Oprah Daily that the same talent will feature in the second installment of the Netflix hit (including Lucas Bravo), while also hinting at what’s next for Emily. “She’s going to be more of a part of the fabric of the world she’s living in,” he explained. “She’ll be more of a resident of the city… She’ll have her feet on the ground a little more. She’s making a life there.”

There will also be new additions to the cast. According to Entertainment Weekly, British actor Lucien Laviscount, French actor Arnaud Binard, and Tony-nominated playwright Jeremy O. Harris are all on board. Laviscount is set to play Alfie, a sarcastic and charming cynic from London who refuses to immerse himself in French culture. Deadline adds that: “he enjoys teasing Emily. They have an antagonist relationship that evolves into something more. Alfie is in Paris working for a UK bank, but unlike Emily he works to live, not lives to work. He’d prefer to be playing football or having a pint with the lads in an English-speaking pub.”

Meanwhile, Harris will take on the role of fashion designer Gregory Elliott Dupree, a former protégé of Pierre Cadault, and Binard will lend support as Laurent G, a gregarious St. Tropez nightclub owner who meets Emily when he agrees to promote one of her brands.

What else will happen to Emily in Emily in Paris Season 2?

It’s safe to presume that Emily in Paris will build on the ménage-a-trois energy between Emily, Gabriel, and Camille. “I honestly don’t know if Camille knows about what’s going on with Gabriel,” Collins told British Vogue. “That voicemail in the finale threw me off. And it’s interesting because, in the series, there are tonnes of little moments where you’re like, ‘… Does Camille like Emily?’ You can’t really get a vibe, and I feel like that ambiguity is what keeps Emily intrigued. I think anyone in that position would be like, you’re my friend, but now I have this romantic connection [with Gabriel], and I don’t want to hurt you, but… Oh my God! So, you know what, it’s really confusing. I feel like the next season will only create more love triangle drama, although maybe Emily will have a little bit of a stronger handle on the situation… Or maybe not.”

What about Mindy’s role in Emily in ParisSeason 2?

Ashley Park shared her hopes for Mindy in the next installment of Emily in Paris during an interview with E! News. “What’s obvious is that she’s working at this drag club, [she’s] a singer, an MC now, so I’m sure there will be more music for Mindy… Also, she moved in with Emily in that last episode—we were so excited because it was like, ‘Oh, Mindy is in Gabriel and Emily’s world now.’” Sylvie will likely also be subjected to Mindy’s presence, with Park noting that Mindy “hasn’t met any of the people at [Savoir] yet,” and the next season will likely see “some merging of the worlds.”

What will the costumes look like in Emily in Paris Season 2?

Since filming for the second installment began in Paris and St. Tropez in April 2021, photos have emerged showing Collins in a series of outlandish ensembles. There are patterned mini-dresses with printed bucket hats, beach bags in retina-searing shades, bikinis with clashing capes and boxy coats paired with scarves and giant sunglasses. They make clear that while some things may have changed, Emily’s polarizing personal style certainly hasn’t.

Has production wrapped on Emily in ParisSeason 2?

On August 5, Collins confirmed on Instagram that filming for the second season had wrapped. In an interview with Vanity Fair on August 9, creator Darren Star shared further details about what to expect. On the topic of filming in the south of France, he said, “We took over what is probably one of the most glamorous places in the world, the Four Seasons’s Cap Ferrat hotel, where we were staying and filming. The hotel was essentially closed except for us. We had our writers room in a villa on the property, so it actually was surreal—everything in France was shut down at the time.” However, the pandemic won’t be referenced in the show. “In the timeline of the show, it just hasn’t happened yet,” he said.

When is the release date for Emily in ParisSeason 2?

While Netflix has yet to confirm an official release date for the second installment of Emily in Paris, a late 2021 drop is likely.
